Cognex: Scaling a Global Partner Certification Programme with a Branded Mimeo Marketplace Storefront

CHALLENGE

Cognex’s logistics division needed to train a growing number of partner organisations on using its innovative machine vision solutions. Their plan was ambitious: a localised, multi-step training certification programme spanning the Americas, Europe and Asia.
To maintain the integrity of the programme, Cognex needed to distribute standardised training materials so that every learner, regardless of location, would receive the same level of knowledge on their path to becoming C1 certified. That meant finding a scalable solution for printing and delivering student workbooks, lab workbooks and reference materials to partners worldwide — without sacrificing consistency or quality:

  • No scalable print solution existed to serve partners across multiple continents simultaneously
  • Local print vendors lacked the interface quality needed for building and publishing bound documents
  • Materials needed to be available in multiple languages including Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Hindi and Latin American Spanish
  • Instructors at partner organisations needed to be able to order independently, without central coordination for every request
  • Maintaining programme consistency across geographies required a single, controlled source of truth

PROBLEM SOLVING

Cognex considered local print vendors but found their interfaces for building and publishing bound documents lacking.
